Company has an excellent opportunity for an in-house attorney position located at its headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia, reporting to the Vice President, General Counsel. This attorney will help manage the legal affairs and legal risks of the group of businesses as part of a small, dynamic law department consisting of three in-house attorneys, one paralegal and a legal assistant. This attorney will provide management support of all Company legal matters, including reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts; working strategically on joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions; providing legal representation on financing, leasing (equipment and real property), real estate, construction, environmental, employment, MSHA/OSHA, litigation, tax, intellectual property, commercial disputes, and general commercial matters; providing preventive legal guidance on matters such as legal compliance, antitrust, safety, and environmental regulations, and training operations personnel.
