Provide sophisticated high level legal advice and services on a full array of higher education issues as a team member in the Office of the Vice President for Legal Affairs. Performs research and advises on a broad range of law affecting a public research institution, with emphasis in the areas of employment, faculty and student affairs, constitutional law (particularly 1st Amendment), and civil rights; Prepares legal memoranda, contracts, and other documents; drafts and prepares correspondence; reviews, drafts, and interprets policies; conducts investigations and prepares reports. Conducts legal presentations and training; assists with litigation; and other related duties. Must effectively read, comprehend, analyze, and prepare written materials, communicate with diverse constituents, and work effectively without close supervision.
