The Counsel assists the Deputy Chief Counsel, Principal Counsel, and other attorneys in fulfilling the legal affairs and requirements of the corporation, principally (but not exclusively) in the Content (e.g., Programming, Production, Digital, Editorial) area. Serves, with the oversight of the Deputy Chief Counsel, Principal Counsel, or another attorney reporting to the Deputy Chief Counsel, as one of a team of Legal Department representatives for certain assigned areas, primarily but not exclusively in the Programming, Production, Digital and Editorial areas, with respect to operational and other agreements. Will likely have additional assigned responsibilities in other areas, including possibly distribution and technology. Drafts contracts and other legal documents, recommends approval/modification of contracts proposed by outside parties, and negotiates with outside parties.
