The General Counsel is chief legal advisor to the chancellor and handles all legal issues within the institution to include potential litigation, administrative hearings, all contract negotiations and EEOC related matters. As a direct report to the Chancellor and a member of the Chancellor’s Executive Leadership team, the General Counsel represents the University’s interests, in coordination with the Attorney General of North Carolina, in litigation as well as any other administrative proceedings to which the University is a party. Familiarity with a broad array of legal issues that arise in a higher education setting and/or experience as counsel in higher education is preferred.
