Description
DuPont’s Legal Department, located in downtown Wilmington DE has an Occupational Safety and Health and Homeland Security Sr. Counsel position available. The role will be reporting to a Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for DuPont. This Position will require a person of vision, integrity and commitment, strong OSHA & Security expertise, as well as substantial leadership and influencing experience, maturity and judgment.
Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To:
Provide regulatory and other legal service to all DuPont businesses and functions regarding OS&H laws and regulations
Provide legal counsel on S&H issues related to:
acquisitions and mergers,
safety incidents,
standard and policy development,
product stewardship matters,
litigation,
audits,
training
risk assessments.
Provide compliance guidance and interpretation of OSHA regulations in areas such as:
process safety,
Chemical Safety Board investigations,
the rulemaking process
enforcement matters.
Provide regulatory counsel to the Operational Security Division of Corporate Security. Advise plants on Homeland Security laws and regulations and work extensively with regulated sites to comply with these laws, including Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Act (CFAT) and the Marine Transportation Security Act, and several laws regulating the confidentiality of security sensitive information.

Qualifications
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
Familiarity with OSHA regulations, OSHA administrative and rulemaking practices, and inspection and enforcement procedures.
Working knowledge of the environmental and labor laws that overlap into process safety and other safety and health areas.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain Chemical Vulnerability Information clearance from DHS upon hire.
Law degree required
Minimum 5-7 years of experience
The following skill sets are preferred by the Legal Function:
Prior experience advising clients on EH&S-related matters.
Experience with CFATS regulations and enforcement.
