The Senior Counsel will be a part of a small legal department (currently 3 lawyers and a legal assistant) and will have the opportunity to manage cases and provide advice to senior management. The Senior Counsel’s main responsibilities will be assisting the General Counsel with 1) overseeing and managing litigation (consumer class actions, IP/patent cases and a long standing national tax litigation), including oversight of outside counsel, responsibility for discovery and other litigation requests from outside counsel, review of pleadings and other court documents, and advice to the General Counsel on strategy and resolution of cases and 2) oversight and management of employment law issues for priceline.com, including internal investigations, oversight and management of outside counsel in employment litigations, negotiations with plaintiff’s lawyers concerning possible employment related claims, maintaining a knowledge base of relevant employment law issues and changes in the law, and general legal support to the People and Culture department.
