The Vice President for Legal Affairs & General Counsel, reporting to the University President, serves as part of the leadership team and is a member of the President’s Cabinet. Overseeing the Office of General Counsel, this Vice President has a staff of three paralegals and two Assistant General Counsels. The General Counsel’s office functions in close collaboration with the State Attorney General’s office, and deals with the wide-ranging legal issues facing a large, complex, growing state university. The staff in the office also works closely with Special Counsel from outside law firms appointed by the Ohio Attorney General for specific legal specialties (i.e., intellectual property and technology transfer fields, as well as workers’ compensation, international and labor relations).
