The General Counsel is responsible for leading, directing and overseeing the legal function on a global basis. As the top in-house legal executive, the duties of this position include, but are not limited to, setting global legal strategies and functional legal plans for the company, overseeing all legal matters pertaining to the organization, including patent, copyright, intellectual property, compliance and risk management; plus the coordination of any legal matters handled by outside counsel. The General Counsel position, in conjunction with the legal staff and company management, provides analysis and legal advice on commercial and employment matters for the company, draft, negotiate and review commercial contracts, including but not limited to agreements relating to licensing, distribution, consulting, confidentiality, mergers & acquisitions, divestitures and other business and legal matters
