This position assists in handling legal matters for The University, with primary assignment at The University. Responsibilities include handling a variety of administrative, transactional, and litigation matters. J.D. from an accredited law school; Tennessee license or eligible for Tennessee license; five or more years of civil practice experience in a law firm or in a corporate, higher education, or government legal office; strong academic record; and strong legal writing and oral communications skills. One or more of the following types of experience is preferred: public higher education experience; employment law experience; or civil litigation experience.
