As Labor & Employment Counsel , you will, under supervision of the Vice President of Labor & Employment, work closely with Human Resources, Operations and Senior Management to handle day-to-day employment relations issues, negotiate labor contracts, represent the Company in labor arbitrations, defend against unfair labor practice charges before the NLRB, investigate and respond to EEOC and state discrimination charges, oversee investigations, train supervisors/managers on a variety of legal topics, and, when necessary, supervise union election campaigns. This role will serve as one of the Company experts on labor and employment law, answering questions from the field organization relating to the interpretation of CBAs, state and federal employment laws, etc. on a daily basis. You will also handle a variety of employment law matters ranging from ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, defending against claims in state and federal court, and managing outside counsel.
