The General Counsel is responsible for overseeing the legal function on a global basis. As top in-house legal executive, the duties of this position include, but are not limited to, global responsibility for corporate governance, securities, compliance, employment law, commercial transactions, M&A, litigation, regulatory, privacy, and antitrust. The General Counsel provides senior management and the board of directors with effective legal counsel on company strategies and their implementation, manages the legal function, and assesses and manages risk. As a member of the leadership team, the General Counsel will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a work environment focused on quality and that fosters learning, respect, open communication, collaboration, integration, and teamwork.
