This individual occupies a high-level position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and functions as an independent and objective person who directs and monitors the Hospital’s Legal Affairs. Key responsibilities include: develops, initiates and ensures the operation of the Legal Affairs department so that the Hospital uses its best efforts to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, standards of conduct and policies. In addition, the General Counsel advises the CEO and/or his designee and the Board of Directors and appropriate internal committees on material legal and compliance risks, mitigation and corrective actions. The General Counsel serves as the primary contact for the Hospital’s Legal Affairs & Compliance program.
