Provision of services may include both litigation and transactional work, depending on the area of specialization. Position requires maintaining a current knowledge of legal developments and what effect the law will have on entities, hospitals, medical staff members, employees, patients and contractors; legal research; identification, evaluation, of legal risks and external regulatory influences, and evaluating potentials for litigation and/or regulatory penalty; acting as an advisor and assistant to management and employees; training employees and medical staff on new legislation and current legal issues; preparation of policies and procedures; working with outside counsel; negotiations with third parties relating to contracts, settlements and other transactions; assisting in budgeting; participation in meetings.
