Leverage expert knowledge of laws, codes, regulations and other relevant authority pertaining to Employee Benefit plans to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Oversee and provide specialized legal analysis and advice to management and staff, on Employee Benefit-related statutes and related regulations including, but not limited to, the Internal Revenue Code, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA),the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and various workers compensation laws and regulations. Advise claims processing department personnel of legality of benefits claims filed company to ensure against undue payments.
