The General Counsel reports to the President and provides legal representation and counsel to the administration, faculty and staff who are acting in their official capacities. The General Counsel is a generalist who is expected to be knowledgeable on a wide variety of issues involving the University, including litigation, employment and student issues, real estate, contracts, environmental issues, and government regulation. The General Counsel is a facilitator and advocate for the University. Additionally, the General Counsel is expected to assist the President and members of the Executive Team in identifying specialty attorneys who can manage complex issues involving development of the Innovation Campus, patents, contracts and other important legal matters.
