Develop, advance and implement a comprehensive IP strategy to build on company’s position as a leader in the fields of gene therapy, cancer immunotherapy and gene editing. Collaborate with scientific, manufacturing, clinical and business development colleagues and outside patent counsel to expand and enhance bluebird bio’s patent portfolio. Review and draft patent applications consistent with corporate strategy based on data, discussions with scientific and clinical staff, and emerging scientific trends from the literature. Manage and advise upon the strategic prosecution of bluebird bio’s patent portfolio by outside counsel to achieve both early patent allowances and broad, defensible coverage on a global basis.
