The Attorney will provide legal advice to the System’s 22 facilities, located in 16 states, Canada and Mexico, Corporate Headquarters, Senior Management and Board Members. The Attorney Healthcare’ s responsibilities include, but are not limited to: analyzing hospital arrangements and alternative delivery models (ambulatory surgery centers, rehabilitative clinics, and outpatient clinics) to minimize legal risk and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Subject matters include: Healthcare Transaction and Regulatory Law, Stark, federal Anti-Kickback law, HIPAA, PPACA, Facility licensure, reimbursement issues, payor provider contracts, credentialing, Medicaid enrollments, medical staff issues, Business Law, drafting and negotiation of contractual documents, physician contracts, intellectual property; presenting recommendations and participating in complex contract negotiations.
