This position is responsible for counseling management regarding the Corporation’s legal rights and obligations relative to claims and litigation involving personal injury, death, and property damage/loss, in connection with company operations across the country. This position advises company leadership and company’s Claims professional staff on a variety of issues, including: claims and litigation management and disposition; accident investigations; crisis response to critical incidents including derailments and high exposure accidents; evidence preservation; health and safety; indemnity, insurance and risk management; legislative proposals; and other matters.
