Provides legal services, advice and practical solutions in relation to a wide range of public utility regulatory and related issues affecting the Companies, including: assessment of legal, regulatory compliance and business risk; preparation of legal documents, pleadings, memoranda and regulatory filings; preparation of rate case filings and participation in all aspects of rate case hearing, including discovery, witness preparation, filing motions, etc.; advising officers, managers and employees regarding proposed legislation, newly enacted laws, legal trends, cases and policies pertinent to the Companies; assisting in the development and implementation of the Companies' policies, procedures, and strategies; advocate the Companies' positions externally. Provide work direction and/or monitor work performed by outside attorneys to ensure use of the same is efficient and provides high value; assist in monitoring and managing outside counsel costs, including invoice reviews.
