Job Summary
Serves as legal counsel for ordinary and special business activities of the region, service line (e.g., appraisal and financial services) or area of responsibility (e.g., employment matters).
Duties and Responsibilities
Advises on legal aspects of commission, agency and other compensation agreements, engagement letters,
management services and development consulting agreements, branch office leases, and/or human resources
matters.
Directs the work of Counsel on various projects.
Supervises litigation affecting region/service line (s).
Cooperates with outside counsel on various legal matters.
Participates in formulation, implementation and interpretation of the firm’s and individual department policies.
Prepares various employment contracts.
Supervises, in conjunction with other attorneys, paralegals and secretaries.
Uses telephone in performance of day-to-day responsibilities.
May travel from floor to floor and/or between offices/locations to attend meetings/seminars and other related events.
May use personal computer in performance of day-to-day responsibilities.
Performs other office functions as necessary and applicable which may include, but are not limited to , photocopying, faxing and transporting and retrieving files and other relevant documentation.
Performs selected assignments and other responsibilities as assigned by Managing Counsel or General Counsel.
Requirements
Law degree and Bar admission required.
Minimum of three to four years legal experience required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills required.
Excellent comprehension skills required.
Training skills required.
