Description

Represent T-Mobile on legal matters as assigned by Managing Attorney. Prepare supporting legal documents such as briefs, contracts, leases, state and local regulatory materials and other real estate and compliance related filings. Provide counsel primarily to Engineering team members on legal matters impacting their areas of responsibility.

Essential Functions:

Engage, work with, and manage outside counsel.
Negotiate and draft a variety of complex agreements, including leases, vendor agreements and permitting documents.
Advise the business in assessing short-term tradeoffs in the context of broader strategic imperatives.
Drive departmental initiatives, including the development or redesign of legal support processes to increase efficiencies and better align to the needs of the business
Serve as trusted advisor for several specialty areas. Advise on a broad range of strategic legal and business matters.
Counsel clients on a wide variety of complex and developing legal and business issues.
Address disputes arising from leases including property damage claims, rent disputes, property restoration issues
Conduct legal and industry-related research when appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Required
A minimum of 8+ years of experience as a business attorney, with relevant in-house and/or top law firm experience handling real estate matters.
Experience with construction law, landlord/tenant law, retail leasing, contract drafting and negotiation.
Demonstrated ability to lead highly complex projects and other high impact initiatives.
Ability to establish self as subject matter expert in specialty field.
Ability to interact with senior management with strong executive maturity.
Ability to mentor and lead others informally in areas of expertise.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other legal and business professionals in a complex organization with a focus on delivering results efficiently.
Keen business sense with strong judgment, negotiation, drafting and decision making skills.

Education

Minimum Required
Masters/Advanced Degree. JD from an accredited university with outstanding academic credentials
Must be member of the Illinois Bar.
Familiarity with issues related to the wireless industry.
