Represent the company in defense of federal, state and/or third party environmental actions after researching and understanding the historical activities which give rise to the claims. Develop and recommend to the appropriate business group and/or senior management, and implement a strategy to reduce the company’s potential liability for environmental claims. Participate with other potentially responsible parties in joint defense of government actions to minimize transactional costs and ultimate remedy costs; advocate the use of mediation or other alternative dispute procedures to resolve environmental liability in a cost effective manner.
