This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer (the CLO) and is responsible for handling legal matters assigned by the CLO from time-to-time including litigation, threatened claims, government inquires and similar matters relating to the company or one or more of its subsidiaries or affiliates. Responsibilities will include proactive and strategic case management; creating and overseeing litigation strategies, plans and budgets; devising dispute resolution strategies; making reserve, settlement and defensibility recommendations; actively managing outside counsel; reviewing and approving litigation documents; providing proactive legal advice that effectively mitigates litigation risk; facilitating responses to subpoenas and government requests of any type; advising on enterprise risk management matters; and cooperatively working with leaders throughout the organization to best represent the enterprise.
