The General Counsel is the chief legal officer of the University responsible for advising the President and University staff regarding legal and regulatory compliance and risk mitigation, researching compliance issues and developing policy and procedure recommendations, and directing regulatory compliance for interstate distance education, financial aid, and EPA. The General Counsel shall oversee the University’s contracts and provide guidance or approval when appropriate. The General Counsel shall be the primary contact person with external counsel and shall represent the University in administrative hearings, mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
